The history of Hertz Slovenia

In 1918 Walter L. Jacobs founds company Rent-A-Ford as 12 Ford Model T were in the fleet. In 1923 John D. Hertz acquires the company and renames it “Hertz DrivUrSelf System”.

In 1970 the reservation center in Oklahoma City is opened – Hertz is available around the clock from then on.

In 1964 rental activity in company Kompas begins and in 1972 Kompas signs first licence agreement with Hertz International. In the late 80s, Kompas Hertz is one of the largest Hertz licensees in Europe.

In 1982 Rienhoff GmbH is founded as Hertz franchisee for the whole of Austria and in 2013 Rienhoff GmbH takes over the Hertz car rental market in Slovenia.

In 2018 Hertz Ride opens in Austria, one year later Hertz Ride opens in Slovenia as well.
